With a compact design, those beautiful yet functional chopsticks are handmade in Japan by Yamachiku, an artisanal workshop entirely dedicated to craft bamboo chopsticks, all painted by hand.
Yamachiku is known throughout Japan for their thoughtfully designed chopsticks thanks to its skilled artisans who have been turning locally harvested Moso Bamboo into colorful tableware since 1963. Their name, Yamachiku, found its roots in Kumamoto Prefecture, a region with an abundance of Bamboo they take care of in a sustainable way:  Yama means Mountain, Chiku means Bamboo.
